Relating The Road to Time and Sequence- Takes place over a period of weeks
- Not really explicit, but mentions days passing
- Winter is coming, so the man wants to get over the mountain range
- Father's condition gets worse over times
- Emphasis on trying to get over the mountain before the winter kills them --> This makes time all the more important
- Woman's story is revealed over time --> slow exposition --> keeps reader interested
- Novel ends on a bit of a cliffhanger - It's the beginning of the child's journey, and the end of the fathers.
